This page is to record and let you know what we’re up to this winter. We have an exciting time coming up, with new rolling stock, a new locomotive and the second point to construct down at the bottom station, Weldale.

Keep checking back to see our progress!

15th March

Only one week to go until we open for the season, a lot has happened! A photo speaks a thousand words, so please follow the links to find albums of the various projects.

The point at Weldale has been completed, with all the welding now done in-house thanks to a nifty DC inverter welder from Germany. Click here to see the finished project.

The tunnel for the drainage has been completed, thanks to our volunteers, Les and Phil for that! Click here to see photos of this.

The coaches are coming along nicely, with a new end being fabricated for No.4, and along with the second Longleat receiving a lick of paint to match our original one. Click here to see how these are progressing.

Due to the lack of response from our appeal for point levers, we have got our heads together to come up with a unique solution! Click here to see this!

The steps up to the “cinder path” behind the tunnel are complete. Click here to have a quick look.
